In a competitive and fast changing business world, the Company realizes that the Company must have the surplus value and industrial attraction power for the stakeholders. The Company also realizes that, in order to face the challenge of competition and changing, the Company requires excellent good corporate governance.
The implementation of Good Corporate Governance in the Company has been carried out earlier than the implementation of regulation and requirement for Good Corporate Governance in Indonesia. The Company’s Corporate Culture, which serves as guidelines for attitude and behavior development, has been carried out since 1996. The assessment of good corporate governance has been done by Deloitte Touche Tomatsu in 2001 which resulted in “Acceptable Practice”.
As a public company that is listed in national stock exchange, the Company realizes that by a management that based on principles such as transparency, responsibility, fittingness and independency, the Company will be able to increase value for the shareholders.
The Company’s commitment in implementing good corporate governance is constantly performed in various efforts to increase and expand Company’s management so the Company can have the best business practices conform to the international standard. Commitment and compliance to the implementation Good Corporate Governance will guarantee long term sustainable development and will eventually increase the trust of the shareholders.
The Company’s significant step in increasing Good Corporate Governance in 2006 was the expansion of the structure in Commissioner by establishing some committees, namely: Good Corporate Governance Committee, Strategic, Risk Management and Investment Committee, and Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Along with the established Audit Committee, the aim of these committees is to support commitment, policy, and implementation of the best practices of Good Corporate Governance in the Company. Next, in order to place the implementation of Good Corporate Governance in solid footing toward ”Best Practice” in the future, the Company will compose guidelines for the implementation of GCG in the company, and strive for GCG assessment by an independent consultant.
