In Ramadan fasting month of this year, PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk shares the happiness by giving some aids to the orphans and un-wealthy community living around the ring one and two of the factory of PT Semen Gresik. Ceremonially, the aids were given at Wisma Ahmad Yani, on Saturday (08/20/11).
Before the distribution of the aids was done, about 1,000 orphans, who followed the agenda, say a prayer and gratitude, because this year, the cement making company was also celebrating its 54th the anniversary.
The management of PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk conducts the annual event in an effort of realizing its care for the poor and orphans around the factory. Besides getting cash aid of Rp200 thousand each child, they also got a parcel containing bags, school supplies, Muslim wear, kopyah and mukena for girls.
Head of Partnership Program and Community Development Unit of PT Semen Gresik, Eko Honeng says, the activity is a routine one which has been performed each year in commemoration of the anniversary of PT Semen Gresik. "Coincidently, this year’s fasting month comes at the same time of the anniversary celebration of Semen Gresik. So, we conduct both of the agenda in one package together," he explained.
According to Eko Honeng, each child who was invited to this event was picked up by buses owned by Semen Gresik and assisted by a car community under the auspices of the Community Development of Semen Gresik incorporated in MobSG.
"There are about 50 units of MobSG cars that took part in the event this time. We involve them to pick up the kids that we invite to this event so that they do not rush to come here, "he explained.
In addition to helping orphans, said Eko Honeng, the management of Semen Gresik also has distributed 3,000 basic food packages to needy people who live around the factory. "The package contains rice, cooking oil, instant noodles and sugar," he said.
